AN ADOPTION STORY
An Adoption Story is our ongoing documentary series that explores the lives of adoptees and their journeys through life, family, and identity.
Each story shares moments of connection, reflection, and discovery, offering an insight into the experiences that shape who we are. Every episode begins with the person sharing their story from the very beginning.
Our series continues to grow, with new stories being filmed and shared on Alex Gilbert’s YouTube channel and through the I’m Adopted website. Three episodes from the latest season are also available on NZ On Screen.Visit on NZ On Screen
Season 3 of the series is currently being filmed and is scheduled for release in 2026.

dvina. is where film, design, and technology meet. Alongside producing An Adoption Story, we work on a variety of creative projects that bring ideas to life, whether it’s behind the camera, developing an online experience, or helping others tell their story.
We film, edit, and produce a wide range of creative work, from photography and drone videography to editing, story development, and visual production. Every project is approached with the same purpose that drives our documentary work.
We also design and develop websites and web apps using Next.js and Visual Studio Code, as well as builders like Squarespace and Wix. Our goal is to create clean, minimal, and responsive designs that focus on clarity and connection. This includes the dvina. website, Alex Gilbert’sVisit alexgilbert.co.nz, and the I’m AdoptedVisit imadopted.org website, all built from scratch with custom code in Next.js.
We also help creators and businesses with YouTube SEO, channel growth, and social media development, combining our storytelling experience and strategy to help projects reach their audience in the best way possible.
